Invitation Packet
My invitation packet came in the mail on Saturday, Nov.21, right before we were leaving to see the Transiberian Orchestra! I was so excited to find out that my assignment is for PARAGUAY! My program is called Rural Health and Sanitation and I'll be leaving for staging on February 2, 2010. I'll be speaking Spanish anddd Guarani which I am really excited about! Some of my main duties will be to focus on dental health education, parasite prevention, nutrition, improving cooking methods, STIs and HIV/AIDS prevention education, improving waste disposal methods, and cleaning/protecting water sources. I just sent out my visa and passport applications and completed my updates resume. I just have to work on my aspiration statement, as well as financial and insurance matters. It'll take a lot of work and preparation to get ready for this, but I can't wait!!!! :)

Hey! I saw your post on the PC journals website. My name is Alison, and I just got my invitation for the same program in Paraguay! I'm thrilled to finally know where I'm going! Looks like we will be working together in a few months. :)

ReplyDeleteI received my nomination in May and applied in January. I think my process was a little drawn out. It's really different for each applicant though, so don't count on that!
